This ongoing research examines how protocols behave once control becomes diffuse and incentives drift. It covers governance theater, coordination failures, and the gap between decentralization rhetoric and operational reality.

The work draws on direct experience building and operating these systems, combined with historical analysis of what happens when founders leave and communities must self-govern.
